Let's begin, So everyone must have heard "Deja Vu" but what exactly is it? According to the definition, it means "already seen" or it is a feeling to already have lived the present situation. A couple of weeks ago I wrote on a similar group "PINK FANTASY" that had the same theme as of this senior group.

Who doesn't know about Dreamcatcher, a 7 member girl group that specializes in dark themes is back with another action-packed song "Deja Vu". That deals with memory, perception, and truth vs lie, as it's been said Deja vu is a false memory that is created by our mind based on our experiences.
So let's talk about the amazing music video, at the very first scene of the song, we can see Yoohyeon entering the hall of a castle wearing all white which signifies her being good or the truth, and as she sits on the throne a black fog (lies) from her back cover her up and takes her to a false reality.
And the next scene where Jiu is towering a sword on Yoohyeon wearing all black signifies her dark nature maker her the bad one (liar). As the story follows this interpretation of good and evil changes according to the situation.
And then we get a flashback where all the members are standing around the dining table and having fun and the very next scene we see Yoohyeon and Jiu standing opposite to each other at the ends of the table builds up an environment of rivalry.
The music video has 4 significant colors that can be seen all around the set, the Black and White resemble evil and good & the Red and Blue resembles truth and lie. And also blue color defines memory, in the scene where Yoohyeon and Jiu can be seen alternatively in the coffin with the blue roses around them depicts the memories of the members and their friendship. And when Dami comes on screen we can see mirrors behind her that tell about the dual nature of hers.
The sword scene comes up again but now in a reverse situation where this time Yoohyeon is holding the sword against Jiu, but Yoohyeon drops the sword as being the good one here.
The lyrics of the song are just amazing, from the starting onwards the lyrics are the heart of the song. In the beginning, it says that the glow of their eyes has been lost and all their memories are being erased with the lies. And from the scene of the fog covering up Yoohyeon tells us that she has been fed with lies and no matter how much she avoids them she gets fallen to them again. The lyrics also tells that the members want the truth to be lie and the lie to be the truth because lies always made them happy whereas truth made them miserable.
Back to the music video, in the end, we can see that Yoohyeon won and can be seen sitting on the throne, but she still doesn't seem happy because she lost her friends in the battle to be the best. In the last scene in the video, where she is on the throne we can clearly observe that the moon is bigger than the sun which tells that darkness has won against the light since lie has become truth and truth has become a lie. And the last line sums up the whole show as the members start falling with "And now I'm in my Deja Vu ".
