"I'm a Queen like a Lion"

Annyeonghaseyo everyone, SO I'm back with another cool post and today I'll be talking about the first killing comeback of the month i.e by (G)I-DLE.

So (G)I-DLE made their comeback on Nov 3 with a historic badass song that empowers women's abilities. They can be a fighter, a ruler, an inspiration to many or a path creator and the list goes on. The members in the music video show a different perspective of a woman who seeks her position in this world.

The music video starts off with Minnie on a stone block with arrows beside her and painting at the back makes up imagery of a museum, this particular scene reminds me of Narnia (movie) when Aslan (The lion in the movie) was kept on the stone that broke when an innocent (Aslan) was killed on that stone. Pretty same meaning for this scene- Minnie sitting on the stone defines her personality of being a Lion and all the arrows (pains) that are the fake accusations that couldn't even touch the truthful Minnie. And she says "Ooh I'm a Lion, I'm a queen, No one, Yes nothing can confine me, even pain"

The second scene where Soyeon is in a cage and sings "Fire under the red sun, a blue flower burning, I'm here to play hard to get", here it feels like a battlefield that Soyeon can't leave as she has to make her mark in the field -the lyrics could mean that the inner anger that pops out from the innocent heart (blue flower) of her. And next, there's Soojin with golden claws and a huge lion claw mark on her back and a similar claw mark painting at the back where the mark on her back could be the impact they got from the battle and the painting of the mark can be seen as an achievement that should be remembered.

Just then the first beat drops and it's hella lit! with Miyeon at the center, they talk about the boring stuff that lingers around them and they should get rid of it and become a lion. And my favorite part comes now "I cover my eyes and feel the music, You look into my eyes and feel threatened by this music, trapped in the burning hot rhythm and devote a lion's dance, It looks like a Lion, I'm a queen like a Lion" which moreover feels like they are talking about their music.

After this wonderful choreography, Shuhua enters and talks about the power of women who fought a battle and is spreading her kingdom. She sings "That tough roar makes you come back to me, In this vast wilderness I spread my large firm seeds, That mighty roar makes you come back to me, To this deep dark ocean the rough melody pierces your ears". Her words show her confidence and her ability to achieve greatness. And also in another way, it feels like (G)I-dle is talking about themselves and the songs they make XD.

And the Rap part is PHENOMENAL!! I look at almost every single song that releases most of which you guys haven't even heard of but this rap part was extremely outstanding, NO FREAKING ERRORS and that confidence is something else, I LOVE IT!!
That rap has a true personality of a queen and the words make so sense with the music video and keep the same feel going on,

I’ll bite off your useless courtesy  

We tear down your suffocating prejudice  

Who would dare to stop me  

Who would dare to control me 

 Careful with my sharp claws 

I create a new path no one has attempted before  

All those condescending people will click their tongues  

But the applause I receive after breaking that prejudice is thrilling 

I’ve had a taste Now I can’t deny it I’m a queen...

This rap is perfect as it is and I don't think there's a need to explain what it stands for.

And the track ends with a simple line

Ooh, I’m a lion I’m a queen 

 No one   

Yes. Ooh, Nothing can tame me 

 Even love...
